We are pleased to announce that Open Inventor® 7.2 C++ and .NET by Mercury are now available for both Windows and Linux platforms, 32-bit and 64-bit.

Open Inventor 7.2 brings some significant enhancements, including a more robust memory allocation controler, faster Catia import, many new features in DirectViz (the real-time ray-tracing rendering module of Open Inventor), extended parameter settings in VolumeViz LDM, new options for PDF3D export in HardCopy, and many, many bug fixes.

In addition, Open Inventor 7.2 introduces a completely new Virtual Programming Interface which delivers unprecedented possibilities far beyond the existing MeshViz extension, for extracting and visualizing features from meshes used for scientific and engineering visualization, from manufacturing to reservoir engineering. This brand new module, called MeshViz XLM, available for Open Inventor C++, has been designed to support any type of mesh, whether 2D or 3D, cartesian, triangular, hexahedral, polyhedral, quadratic, structured, indexed, or any type of mesh you can define.
