Position Description

Data visualization is a fast growing sector in the world of business, science and industry.
The Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) develops innovative solutions for 3D visualization in a wide range of areas such as geosciences, medical research, design and mechanical engineering, material sciences, and Non-Destructive Testing. We provide industry-leading 3D data visualization software and solutions that help business, scientific and engineering users gain critical insight from all types of data.

Position Summary:
You will build and maintain the technical relationship with customers in a variety of VSG markets, including Defense and Government. You will need to understand customer applications and map them to our products and capabilities and help present and implement them for our customers. You will attend and contribute to the organization of exhibitions, conferences and seminars. You will work very closely with our sales and our engineering divisions.

Location:
· The position is open to US Citizens in Houston, TX.
· About 25-30% travel is required.

Territory:
· US and Canada




Qualified candidates will have to conduct following tasks:

• Provide application engineering support. Sample responsibilities include explaining the features and benefits of the VSG solution; delivering product presentations to technical and management personnel and communicating with sales and product managers regarding customer needs.
• Be responsible for preparing and delivering proof of concepts which meet customer business requirements, and resolve any technical issue which arises during a sales cycle.
• Work with Technical Support to resolve customer issues.
• Share experience with other Application Engineers in VSG

Secondary Accountabilities/Scope of Position:

· Reviews technical documentation and participates in QA of new products and new releases before they are proposed to customers.

• Participates in preparing the content of the technical materials and presentations (highlighted features, samples…)

· Conducts other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor degree or equivalent.
· 1+ years of scripting experience (TCL preferred)
· Motivated and quick learner in scientific visualization and technical software
· Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate technical ideas in person (one-on-one and small audience settings) as well as listening to and responding to customer problems via telephone and email, giving technical direction, and technical programming and analysis.
· Organized and focused. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at the same time, and be able to prioritize responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience and training in one or more of the following areas
o Image Processing
o Scientific visualization experience with commercial software (Avizo, Amira, ImageJ, Mimics, Simpleware, VG Studio, Tecplot, Paraview,...)
o Knowledge in one or more engineering or research discipline as listed in position description
o Imaging technology, such as micro-tomography, X-Ray, FIB/SEM, and TEM microscopy.
o Programming experience (C++, VTK/ITK, Matlab, LabView, OpenGL/Open Inventor)
