Hi again,

I'm working with a FIB tomography, and I've labelled 3 different phases.
I'm trying to get volume and area information.

For volume I used MaterialStatistics module to get the volume of different phases. The sum of volumes of different phases has to be the total volume (1,12E12 in my case).
Then, I used the Quantification module "volume3d". In this case, only the total volume appears, but in this case is 2,29E12.

I used the QuantificationThreshold to separate the different values in different binary images, and used "volume3d" again for each image.
In this case, volume3d shows the same value as "MaterialStatistics".

So I have something like this:

FIBSLICE.Labels.am	2.900765e+012
phase1.thresholded	6.525787e+011
phase2.thresholded	4.714861e+011
phase3.thresholded	56202240

There are only this 3 phases, but the sum of phase1+phase2+phase3 is not equal to the general "FIBSLICE.Labels".

Why?
What I am doing wrong?

On the other hand, I'm trying to get the areas and specific surface.
The problem is that I can't do this with labelled (or segmented) image: I have to do with thresholded images (one binary image for each phase). Is this correct?
I am using the Quantification module "area3d".

A better user guide for xQuant pack would be nice.

Thanks.
Regards.

Hi,

I'm working with some carbide cements with Avizo Fire 6.3.
I have done the appropiate segmentation and labelling of two phases (carbide and binder), so now I can extract some information about volume and surfaces.

Now I want to extract information about binder connectivity, or "mean free path".
I don't know how can I do this analysis.

I see that there are some works about pore analysis in rocks (like this http://www.vsg3d.com/sites/default/f...g-x-ray-CT.pdf) where they analyse the connectivity between pores.

I'm not sure if this is by "AutoSkeleton" module. I've some problems with this module, because everytime I tried to do, Avizo stops responding while thinning process, at some iteration (sometimes at 9th, other times at 64th).

I didn't see any example of tutorial about this in help.
Where can I get more information about connectivity and AutoSkeleton module?

Thanks for your help.
Kind regards.

Hi All,

One of my biggest peeves with Avizo 7 is that when I save data to a new file name, the module in the pool does not rename itself. This alone is confusing.

Then when you save the network ("project"), the "new" data file comes up... but with the old name.... at least, I think. I can't tell. So I need to trash everything, open up the "new" file and re-save the network.

It's ironic that these file names don't change in this latest release, seeing that every other aspect of the software has been renamed. I've been doing the Amira/Avizo thing for ten years, and old habits die hard. I don't need any help becoming obsolete...

Thanks,
-Ryan

Hi all,

it seems that there is a bug with the threshold tool command, as when I used it it only selects the voxels which are on the 3 orthoslices from the viewer. I'd like the threshold to be applied to the entire volume but I couldn't manage it.

I tried creating new materials, applying the threshold to the exterior, applying the threshold to all slices but nothing worked so far.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Best regards,

Hello!

I try to reconstruct a ball out of laserscans form all 4 views.
For the orientation this ball has landmarks.
My Problem is now that you see only 1 or 2 landmark/s in every view.
If i try it with landmarks2set it doesn't work!
If i try it with AlignSurface AVIZO (6.3) only matches it on the front of the other view, so it's on the wrong place (picture).
If i try it with ObjectRotate it doesn't work either.
Does anybody have an idea?

Kind regards,
